This day tour will take you around the Buddhist pilgimage site of Lumbini, known to be the birthplace of Buddha. You can either choose flight or road trip to reach this architecturally rich town. Either way you won’t be disappointed by visiting this city.

At 9am, you will be greeted by your guide at your hotel lobby or at airport. Start your day of Lumbini Sightseeing by visiting various temples and sites that hold much significance to the Buddhist tradition. Your first stop will be the sacred garden, which is spread over 8 sq.km possesses all the treasures of the historic area. It has been listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage site because of its rich architecture and as it is the birthplace of Lord Buddha.
This site is marked by Ashoka Stone Pillar, which has an engraved inscription identifying the spot as the birth place of Lord Buddha. Next we will visit Mayadevi Temple, which is dedicated to the mother of Lord Buddha. From there we will visit Puskerni Pond, located south of the Ashokan Pillar,where Queen Mayadevi, mother of Lord Buddha is believed to have taken a bath before giving birth to Lord Buddha. Many Nation has built many monasteries in their own way as a tribute to Lord Buddha. For reference: Buddhist Association of China has built Chinese Monastery, a complex of Pagodas and prayer rooms. Korean Monastery built by Korean Buddhist contains beautiful images of Lord Buddha. Royal Thai Monastery is located in the vicinity of the birthplace of the Buddha at the Lumbini Sacred Garden. You will also be seeing Ashoka Pillar, the pillar carrying an inscription identifying the holy site as the birthplace, which is situated nearby the Sacred Garden. To one side of Ashoka pillar is the Mayadevi Temple dedicated to the mother of Lord Buddha. And the Myanmar Temple (Lokamani Cula Pagoda) which is a gleaming gold and white structure gracefully soaring into the sky in the of the Shwe-dagon Pagoda in Yangon. Nearby, there is the International Gautami Nuns Temple which is a fine replica of the Swayambhu Stupa in Kathmandu. You will also be visiting Japanese Peace Stupa, situated at the northern end of Lumbini which was built by the Nippon Jon Myohoji of Japan. After your sightseeing around garden you will driving towards Tilaurakot which used to be the capital of the Shakya Kingdom about 25 kilometers west of Lumbini that extends over an area of two and half miles. Tilaurakot is the exact site of ancient Kapilvastu due to its general consonance of local bearings and geographical conditions as described in the Buddhist texts and travel accounts of Chinese pilgrims. You will be dropped back off to hotel your original departure point, after your tour.
