Poonhill 05 days trek is short trek that lets you explore the main attractions of Annapurna region. Poonhill is located at 3210m altitude, which is the maximum height that we will reach by participating in easy Poonhill trek. This trek is especially for those who are bounded by time limit.
This short trek begins from Nayapul, which we can reach after taking one hour ride from Pokhara. You will be trekking through Ghorepani route to reach Poonhill. During our trek, we will be witnessing Mountains like Machapuchhre, Hiunchuli and many more.
Day01 – Kathmandu to Pokhara to Tikhedhunga
Day02 - Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani
Day03 - Ghorepani to Poonhill to Tadapani
Day04 - Tadapani to Ghandruk
Day05 - Ghandruk to Pokhara to Kathmandu
Day01: Kathmandu to Pokhara to Tikhedhunga
We will take an early morning flight to Pokhara (823m) from Kathmandu (1440m). As soon as, we reach Pokhara, we catch our ride to Nayapul (1050m) which is a one hour ride. From Naypul, our trekking of Poohill (3210m) trek starts. We will walk to Tilkhedhnga (1900m) via passing a forest of blooming rhododendron. Overnight at Tilkhedhunga
Day02: Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani
On day 02, after hiking for 2 hrs we will reach Ulleri (2070m). From there, we will head for Ghorepani (2874m) crossing the Magar village of Banthanti from where we can get spectacular views of Machhapuchhre Mountain (6997m), Hiunchuli Mountain (6441m) and Annapurna South Mountain (7219m). Day03: Ghorepani to Poonhill to Tadapani
Early in the morning, we will hike to Poonhill to see the sunrise view over Dhaulagiri Mountain (8167m), Annapurna I Mountain (8091m), Annapurna II Mountain (7937m), Annapurna III Mountain (7855m), Annapurna IV Mountain (7525m), Annapurna South Mountain (729m), Nilgiri Mountain (6940m), Tukuche Mountain (6920m), Varaha Shikhar (7847m), Lamjung Himal (6931m) and other mountains. We will return to hotel to have our breakfast and we will continue our trekking to Tadapani village (2700m). We can get views of Annapurna South, Annapurna II, Fishtail and other mountains from there. Overnight stay at Tadapani
Day04: Tadapani to Ghandruk
Today’s hike is the easy one. We will walk through forest of oak, rhododendron and other alpine flowers will take us to Ghandruk. From Ghandruk viewpoint, we get striking views of Annapurna South, Gangapurna, Machapuchhre, Annapurna III, Hiunchuli and other Mountains. There is a home-stay in Ghandruk. We will be staying there for the night. We will be welcomed by the locals with Khada and traditional dance will be performed in evening in our honor.
Day05: Ghandruk to Pokhara to Kathmandu
We continue to hike downhill until we reach back to Nayapul through the scenic scenic route with views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Fishtail and Gangapurna Mountains. From Nayapul, we drive to Pokhara. You can stay in Pokhara and stroll around the city or fly back to Kathmandu (your choice).
